Is my baby receiving enough breast milk ? Milk Sense has the answer

Choosing which method to feed your baby is an important decision in a family. Whether it is breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, moms need to know that they are helping to nourish their baby properly, so that they can develop, grow and thrive.

The world’s first breastfeeding monitor -Milk Sense  measures how much your baby consumes, answering the question: “Is my baby receiving enough breast milk?”

It has no contact with your baby, and does not interfere with natural breastfeeding. MilkSense helps sustain breastfeeding efforts by increasing your confidence regarding milk production and consumption, increasing efficiency of your time and tracking feedings so there is no need for additional apps or diaries.

Measurement takes just 10 seconds – before and after breastfeeding. Results allow moms to:

  • Measure the amount of milk in each breast and measurements take just 10 seconds.
  • Measure how much milk baby feeds from each breast
  • Track baby’s feedings and growth, including date, time and side measured
  • Average amount of milk consumed per feeding; Breast productivity at different times of the day
  • Baby’s weight gain over time; and much more.

The MilkSense monitor also measures changes in the milk alveoli in order to determine the amount of milk the baby receives from the breast, by tracing changes in tetra-wire capacitance and resistance of the tissue before and after breastfeeding. The monitor transmits 40 KHz and 20 KHz signals to the breast tissue at an electric current of about 0.5mA and measures the response signals via electrodes contact over the skin. The measurement is sensitive to the average volume of milk alveoli in the breast.
